Dimensions

Page history last edited by Jet Water 10 years, 5 months ago

Maximum bed size: 610mm x 455mm (24" x 18")

Laser beam diameter: circa 0.25mm (0.010")

Laser Power: 50 Watts

Location: A040

The laser beam is not perfectly round, it is slightly oval.

That translates into different tolerances for x and y directions.

The machine does not have an offset function like the waterjet.

As a result from cutting right along the line and the laser

beam taking 0.2mm of material on both sides of the line, parts

are 0.4mm overall smaller, and holes (inlaying features) are

0.4mm larger than drawn in CAD.

In Solid Works this can be accounted for by using the

'offset' function in the 'sketch' menu, to make parts 0.4mm

(overall) larger, and holes smaller.

If you know of a more convenient way to do this, please

feel free to talk about that in this wiki.
